I'm back up north at work so that means a slowdown in updates. I did bring my tablet! Well...
I drove up north yesterday. I left my home at 7am and picked up two people in Belleville. The drive takes 12-15 hours. My car died just outside of Algonquin park after trying to pass someone on a turning lane. We waited in a restaurant for a tow truck. We abandoned the car at a Canadian tire in Huntsville and we had to wait around ot catch a bus in North Bay. We called someone to pick us up in North Bay. We had about 4 hours to kill in Huntsville.
We had lunch and looked around and sat in Tim Horton's for like 3 hours. Then we got on the bus to North bay, which was an hour and a half. We waited nearly an hour for Dan. We stopped in Sturgeon Falls to have supper for an hour and that was 9pm. Everyone else was drinking so I drove to Sudbury and a little bit past it. Dan took over and drove until about 3:30 am to a place called the watershed and then across a road called the Sultan Road. I took over from there and drove the rest of the way to Missanabie. We got there at 5 am. It took us 23 hours to get there.
We sat 1 moose, 1 turkey, 1 groundhog, and 1000 rabbits. When we were at the gas station this guy brought in a dead grouse and handed it to his wife who worked in the kitchen. It was roadkill. Guess what's for dinner?
I feel irrational glee for seeing "Sudbury" mentioned. I've been there! 8D
My father has also prepared a roadkill fowl for dinner...I wasn't present when they ate it, but I had to pick it up when he noticed it on our drive. 8|
